Govt to allow people leave Kathmandu on Friday and Saturday
KATHMANDU, April 9: The government has decided to allow people to leave Kathmandu on Friday and Saturday.
A meeting of the High-level Coordination Committee led by Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Ishwar Pokharel decided to let the stranded people go home.
The decision will be a big relief to those people who were left stranded in the capital and people who lost their jobs due to the sudden announcement of nationwide lockdown to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
But despite the lockdown orders, hundreds of people have been leaving the city on foot during the night.
However, people will not be allowed to enter Kathmandu.
According to Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Basanta Kumar Nembang, the government will make necessary arrangements to take them home.
