No Nepalis in Oman infected with COVID-19
KATHMANDU, April 10: No Nepali migrant workers in Oman are infected with coronavirus, said the Embassy of Nepal in Oman on Thursday.
The government of Oman is preparing to announce a lockdown from today until April 24 as the cases in the country has reached 457 with two casualties, 71 have returned home after recovery.
The embassy has urged all the Nepalis living there to stay indoors except for urgent work.
According to the embassy, arrangements have been made for online visa term extension for those on leave whose visa term has expired,
Meanwhile, the consular services being provided by the Embassy from Manama in Bahrain have been suspended for the time being following the surge in the number of COVID-19 cases there.
However, one could obtain consular services in an emergency situation through the single appointment with the Embassy.
A total of nine Nepalis in various countries have died of the virus and more than 100 are said to be infected.
