KATHMANDU, April 14:  The government has decided to extend the nationwide lockdown until April 27.

A meeting of the Council of Minister took the decision following the recommendation of the COVID-19 High-level Coordination Committee as the virus cases continue to soar in Nepal.

The Health Ministry confirmed two new infections on London returnees staying at the Sun City Apartment today taking the total cases to 16.

This the third time the government has extended the lockdown — first on March 29 followed by April 7 since the enforcement came into effect on March 24.

The meeting has also decided to suspend international flights until April 30.
