Fourth COVID-19 patient returns home after recovery

KATHMANDU, April 19: A coronavirus patient has returned home after a complete recovery on Sunday, according to Health Ministry Spokesperson Dr Bikash Devkota.

The 21-year-old male from Lamki Chula-9 of Kailali district was undergoing treatment at the Seti Provincial Hospital in Dhangadi for the past 16 days. He was discharged after his second and third test turned out negative. He is the fourth person patient to have recovered from the virus.

Earlier on Saturday, a 19-year-old female from Kathmandu, who was receiving treatment at the Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Hospital, and a 65-year-old patient from Baglung , who was receiving treatment at Dhaulagiri Hospital, were discharged form hospital.

Nepal’s first patient was discharged two months ago.

A total of 31 cases have been reported so far. Of the remaining 27 active cases, one each is receiving treatment in Kathmandu and Baglung, two in Patan, four each in Dhangadhi and Birgunj, two in Bharatpur and 13 in Biratnagar.
