Attorney office denies to register kidnapping complaint against two NCP lawmaker, ex-IGP

Janata Samajbadi Party

KATHMANDU, April 28: District Government Attorney Office, Kathmandu has also rejected to file the kidnapping complaint against Nepal Communist Party lawmakers Mahesh Basnet, Kishan Shrestha and former Inspector General of Police Sarbendra Khanal.

After the Metropolitan Police Range Teku denied to resister the kidnapping case against the trio on Sunday, the top leaders of newly formed Janata Samajbadi Party had reached Babarmahal to file the complaint. The party has accused the trio of abducting their lawmaker Dr Surendra Yadav from Mahottari last Wednesday “at the direct order from Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli” with a false intention to split the Samajbadi Party (now Janata Samajbadi following the merger with Rastriya Janata Party Nepal on April 22).

“But the District Attorney Office Hari Prasad Regmi refused to register the case,” Janata Samajbadi leader Bishwodeep Pandey wrote on Twitter.

But the trio has claimed they brought Dr Yadav to Kathmandu in consent.
