Fire guts seven houses in Taplejung
TAPLEJUNG, May 2: A fire that broke out last night at Phungling Bazaar, the headquarter of Taplejung district has destroyed at least seven houses.
According to the police, the fire started at 10 pm suddenly from around Bhandari Khaja Ghar and destroyed 11 small hotels and shops in the houses. No human casualties were reported.
According to locals, one house had to be torn down while another one had to be partly destroyed to contain the fire from spreading further, according to locals.
The fire was brought under control through the joint efforts of Nepal Police, the Armed Police Force and Nepali Army personnel and the locals at around 5 am in the morning.
