District Attorney Office finally registers Surendra Yadav kidnapping complaint

KATHMANDU, May 4: Kathmandu District Government Attorney Office has finally registered the kidnapping complaint against the two Nepal Communist Party lawmakers and former Inspector General of Nepal Police on Monday.

Janata Samajbadi Party lawmaker Dr. Surendra Yadav lodged the complaint against ruling party lawmakers Mahesh Basnet and Kishan Shrestha and ex-IGP Sarbendra Khanal at the attorney office, which had previously denied to file the case saying the incident did not occur in Kathmandu.

Yadav has accused the trio of forcefully bringing him to Kathmandu, which his party has described as abduction.

Yadav had previously reached the Attorney Office after the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Range, Teku refused to register the case.

He then had knocked the door of the National Human Rights Commission.

Meanwhile, the accused has also filed a human rights violation complaint against Yadav at the commission.
