Govt decides to extend lockdown until May 18
KATHMANDU, May 6: A meeting of the Council of Ministers has decided to extend the nationwide lockdown until May 18.
This is the fifth time the government has extended the lockdown after it came into force on March 24. Previously, the government had extended the lockdown on March 29, April 7, April 14 and April 26. The ongoing lockdown in ending on May 7.
The High-level Coordination Committee to prevent and control the coronavirus pandemic on Tuesday had recommended the government to extend the lockdown owing to rising cases in the country.
Nepal has confirmed 82 cases so far.
The meeting has also decided to suspend international flights and cross-border movement until May 31.
