Ten more test positive as Nepal’s coronavirus cases reach 120

KATHMANDU, May 11: Nepal’s COVID-19 cases climbed to 120 on Monday after ten more persons were tested for the virus.

According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Health and Population, they are from Yashodhara rural municipality-5 and Buddhabhumi Municipality-7 and 10 of Kapilvastu district.

They were tested positive during a test conducted at the National Public Health Laboratory in Teku, the release reads.

Nine patients are aged 18, 19, 20 ,20, 24, 30, 31, 34, 34 while the age of one patient is yet to be ascertained.

The virus has spread to 15 districts since the first case was detected on January 23 in Kathmandu, with Udayapur, Banke and Parsa each reporting over two dozen confirmed cases. With ten new infections today, Kapilvastu has now 15 cases.

Of the total infected, 31 patients have recovered.
