Woman gang-raped in Thimi, one arrested

THIMI, May 25: Police have arrested a man on the charge of gang-raping a woman in Madhyapur Thimi.

Rohit Giri, 22, was arrested on May 22 after the 20-year-old rape victim lodged a complaint against him and four others, who lived in a rented apartment at Purano Thimio of Madhyapur municipality-6, Bhaktapur.

Giri lured the woman with money, took her to his room and raped her on May 21. He then his friends who raped her many times holding her hostage, Deputy Superintendent of Metropolitan Police Range Bhaktapur, Deepak Giri, said.

The four are still at large. Of them has been identified as Kawang Lama.
