Govt committed to save people from pandemic and hunger

Lockdown, coronavirus

KATHMANDU, May 25: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli Monday said that the government is committed to saving the people from the pandemic and hunger.

In an address to the nation today, he said the government is making necessary preparations for coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic doing its best to control the pandemic.

“We started the COVID-19 in a single lab, but now we have 20 laboratories across all seven provinces,” the prime minister said.

The government authorities remain prepared to face the pandemic, as Nepal continues to fight against coronavirus—that has infected 682 and killed four people– since the past 62 days of the lockdown, according to him.

He also said that the quarantine centers will be gradually upgraded.

“We need to continue to keep up this fight for some more time to come,” he said.

According to him, the government is working to expand the scope of COVID-19 testing in at least two percent population of the country.

“As this infection will last more some more time, we can win against the pandemic only if we work together against it,” he said.

He also said the government is working to increase the quarantine facilities across the country.
