183 coronavirus patients have recovered so far

KATHMANDU, May 27: A total of 183 coronavirus patients have recovered so far in the country. They recovered after undergoing treatment at isolation centers of different hospitals, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

Of them, 142 are males and 41 are females. Spokesperson at the Ministry, Dr. Bikas Devkota, during a regular press briefing said that 97 patients from Province 2 have been discharged. Similarly, 30 patients from Province 1, 11 from Bagmati, two from Gandaki, 38 from Province 5 and five from Sudurpaschim have been discharged.

As many as 3,580 people underwent coronavirus test under PCR method at different labs of the country in last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry, 2,320 people underwent test for coronavirus under RDT method in the latest 24 hours.  The government has carried out test for coronavirus on 58,277 people under PCR method and 100,287 people under RDT method so far.

There are 70, 305 people in quarantine constructed across the nation and 699 in isolation of different hospitals.

-RECORD HIGH CASES-

The total cases in Nepal have reached 886 after the ministry confirmed 114 infections–the record number of cases in a single day–on Wednesday. Of the total infected 796 are males and 90 are females.

The virus has now spread across 47 districts after Rukum East became the latest district to report the infection. With this, the virus has affected nine districts of Province 5 with a total of 365 confirmed cases.

Province 2 is the second most affected state with 324 cases. All its eight districts have reported infection.

Province 1 is the third worst-hit state with 103 cases in seven districts. Bagmati has 39 cases in 11 districts, Karnai has 25 cases in three districts, Sudurpaschim has 17 case in five districts and Gankdai has 13 infections in 4 districts.

Nepal has reported four deaths for the virus.
