Elderly dies of coronavirus in Bharatpur, virus death toll rises to 15

KATHMANDU, June 9: An elderly person has died of coronavirus at Bharatpur Hospital on Tuesday, as Nepal’s virus death toll climbed to 15.

The 68-year-old male from Bharatpur-11 was transferred to the ICU of Bharatpur Hospital from Narayani Community Hospital after he was tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday.

He was in ventilator support at the ICU of the community hospital, but was shifted to Bharatpur amid confusions whether or not to transfer him, said Dr Bhoj Raj Adhikari, president of the Hospital Development Board.

He passed away at 7:05 am today morning, he added.

He was also a patient of pneumonia and heart disease.

Of the total deceased, 12 are males and three are females.
