323 more test positive as Nepal’s virus cases cross 4,000
KATHMANDU, June 9: The Ministry of Health and Population confirmed 323 more infections on Tuesday as Nepal’s total COVID-19 cases climbed to 4085.
The virus has now spread to 72 districts after Ilam became the latest country to report infection.
According to ministry Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwar Gautam, of the total infected today, 50 are from Mahottari, 45 from Dhanusha, 24 from Chitwan, 21 from Rautahat, 20 from Rupandehi, 19 from Kanchanpur, 17 from Sarlahi, 15 from Nawalpur, 12 each from Salyan, Nawalparasi West and Siraha, 11 from Baglung, 10 each from Kapilvastu and Darchula, nine from Banke, seven each from Saptari and Dadeldhura, six from Dang, four from Surkhet, three from Morang, two each from Nuwakot and Jumla and one each from Ilam, Sunsari, Dhading and Kailali.
Of the total infected, 3798 are males and 287 are females.
Gautam also confirmed the death of a male coronavirus.
“A 68-year-old from Bharatpur-11 has died of the virus at Bharatpur Hospital today morning. He was also a patient of pneumonia, sugar and pressure. His was tested positive on Monday,” he said.
The death toll from the virus has now reached 15 in Nepal.
