Samajbadi warns Sarita Giri of consequences

KATHMANDU, June 10: Samajbadi Party has instructed its lawmaker Sarita Giri to withdraw the amendment on constitution amendment bill and warned her of consequences if she defies party’s order.

Giri on Tuesday had registered an amendment on the Constitution Amendment Bill second amendment 2077 that seeks to revise the Schedule-3 to update the Nepal map in the national emblem as per the new administrative map, despite support from all the political parties.

Giri, who has already come into controversy saying Limpiyadhura does not belong to Nepal, has claimed that the government has yet to reveal the source and evidence that Lipulekh and Limpiyadhura fall into Nepali territory.

“The party instructs you (Sarita Giri) to immediately withdraw the amendment on Constitution Amendment Bill second amendment you lodged without the direction from the party or face consequences,” the party stated in a press release on Wednesday.
