Govt offices, BFIs and Insurance Offices reopened in two shifts from today



KATHMANDU, June 15: The government offices, bank and financial institutions, cooperatives and insurance offices have reopened in two shifts from today.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers on June 10 had decided to ease the nationwide lockdown in a phase-wise manner, allowing offices, academic institutions, business and industries to reopen and private vehicles to the road. The lockdown is in place since March 24.

The first shift will operate from 8am to 1 pm while the second one will run through 1 pm to 6 pm.

The office of academic institutions, non-government offices and private sector offices’ shall also run in the same modality until the government decides on the next phase of lockdown modality.

Likewise, the public transportation will run under odd-even rule from today while the same rule will be applied for private transportation. Precautionary measures must be taken while using public or private vehicles . The passengers should compulsorily use mask and sanitizers and should maintain social-distancing. Motorcycles and scooters are not allowed to carry two people while private vehicles will be allowed to carry only two people beside the driver. The two-wheelers need not apply odd-even rule.

Educational institutions, domestic and internal flights (except for those granted permission), big seminars and workshops, commercially run swimming pool, zoo, public library and beauty parlour, religions places among other place which attract large gatherings are not allowed to reopen.

Likewise, public sports activities are also restricted.
