Chandragiri to highlight production and employment in budget for upcoming fiscal
KATHMANDU, June 22:Production and employment will be featured as the areas of special priorities in the Chandragiri municipality’s budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
The municipality remaining as the major checkpoint of the Kathmandu Valley will be pursuing the policy of connecting jobless youth force to production so as to make steps towards prosperity, said mayor Ghanashyam Giri.
He reaffirmed, “We have prioritized creating jobs for those youths losing their jobs due to COVID-19 pandemic. Self-employment programme will be implemented for those youths.”
Mayor Giri added that the municipality had emphasized on budget for the health sector for prevention and control of the deadly infection and treatment of the COVID-19 patients.
Chandragiri municipality, which has 15 wards, is the biggest municipality in the Bagmati State. The municipality has also prioritized development of physical infrastructures in the upcoming budget.
Controlling corruption, irregularities and dillydally surrounding the Municipality and promoting good-governance is one of the mottos of the Municipality, Giri said.
The municipality is likely to present annual budget of Rs 1.70 billion for the new fiscal year 2020/21.
