Two persons died of COVID-19, infected crosses 11 thousand
KATHMANDU, June 25 : Two more people have died of COVID-19 in the county today. Of them, one who was undergoing treatment at Pokhara Institute of Health Sciences and second who was undergoing treatment at Patan Hospital in Lalitpur.
According to spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population, Dr Jageshwar Gautam, the man who died at Patan Hospital was a permanent resident of Chitwan and was currently living in Mahalaxmisthan, Lalitpur. He had transplanted his kidney five months ago. He was first admitted at Bhaktapur based Human Transplant Centre and then he was referred to Norvic International hospital, Thapathali for further treatment.
He was detected with COVID-19 in course of treatment at Norvic and then was referred to Patan Hospital. He died while undergoing treatment at Patan Hospital this morning.
Similarly, the person who died at in Pokhara was a permanent resident of Aandhikhola-1 Syangja. He was admitted to the hospital after he complained difficulty in respiration last week.
With these two cases, the death toll in COVID-19 pandemic has reached 26 in the country.
Dr Gautam further shared that, 434 new cases of COVID-19 was witnessed in the country today. Of them, 386 are male while 48 are female. With this, the number of total infected reaches 11,162 in the country till today.
Likewise, 312 persons were discharged after complete recovery today itself. He added that with this, the number of people returning home after recovery has reached 2,650. Dr Gautam further shared that 6,543 are tested for COVID-19 via PCR methods while 4137 via RDT methods in the last 24 hours.RSS
