Thapa appointed the new IGP of Nepal Police
Kathmandu, July 7 : Additional Inspector General of Nepal Police Sailesh Thapa Chettri has been promoted to the post of Inspector General. He is the 28th IG of Nepal Police.
A decision to this end was taken by the meeting today of the Council of Ministers, according to the Home Minister’s press coordinator Kiran Bhattarai. Thapa replaces IGP Thakur Prasad Gyawali, who retires on Wednesday due to the 30 years’ service limit.
AIG Thapa was leading the Human Resources and Administration Department at the Nepal Police headquarters. Born in Katunje, Bhaktapur, Thapa will lead the police organization until Baisakh of 2079 B.S. Thapa had joined as a police inspector on Basaikh 19, 2049 B.S. RSS
