With 70 new cases, number of COVID-19 infected reaches 16,719
Kathmandu, July 11 : The country has witnessed 70 new cases of coronavirus infected individuals in the past 24 hours, Spokesperson of Ministry of Health and Population Dr Jageshwor Gautam said today in a daily press briefing.
A total of 3,648 sample tests were conducted from 25 laboratories across the country, Dr Gautam confirmed.
With this, the number of coronavirus infected totalled 16,719.
He said that Gandaki State witnessed 16, the highest number of cases among seven States while Bagmati saw 14 cases, 13 in State No. 1, 10 in State No.5 and seven in Karnali. Similarly, equal five cases were seen in State No. 2 and Sudur Paschim State.
In the past 24 hours, Sindhupalchowk and Dang saw the highest number of cases with equal five while four equal in Sunsari, Udayapur, Syangja, Tanahun and Kanchanpur districts.
Other cases were confirmed in Morang, Kathmandu, Dhading, Sarlahi, Baglung, Surkhet, Jhapa, Myagdi, Kaski, Banke, Bardiya, Jumla, Siraha, Nuwakot, Chitwan, Sindhuli, Rautahat, Parbat, Palpa, Rukum West, Salyan and Achham districts.
According to Dr Gautam, Mahottari, Rautahat, Palpa, Achham, Kailali and Bajura district have 500 plus each cases of coronavirus.
Similarly, altogether 431 infected individuals were discharged from the hospitals across the country. So far 50.5 per cent of the infected were discharged after the successful treatment.
Total number of people getting discharged from the hospital reached 8,442, he added.The number of people in the quarantine facilities is 24,097 while 8,239 people are in isolation.
According to Dr Gautam, Dhankuta, Bhojpur, Solukhumbu, Mustang, Manang and Humla have no active infected cases.RSS
